Sweet Poha Payasam :)

 Hi friends!

Wishing you and your family Happy Krishna Jayanthi :) May this festival brings you joy,peace and prosperity :)

Here I had made uppu seedai,sweet poha payasam,Vella seedai and Thattai and also Lord Krsihna's favorite Butter :) :) Had a nice darshan too :)




Here I am writing most favorite Sweet poha payasam as below :)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Aval or Poha
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery (Thick consistency) Filtered
  • 1 Tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup Grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup Cashew nuts break into pieces
  • 1/4 cup Raisins.
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 3 Tsp Ghee
Method:

  • Wash the poha/aval well thoroughly,Allow it to soak for atleast 10 minutes.
  • Drain it and set aside.
  • Take a frying pan,Add ghee into the medium flame,Add broken cashew nuts to it till golden light brown.Turn off the heat.Transfer it into another bowl.
  • In the same pan,Add the remaining ghee into the medium flame.Add raisins till it pops up then turn off the heat.
  • In the same pan on medium heat,toast the grated coconut till it gets an aromatic.Make sure not to allow to get burnt.just lightly roast it.
  • Break the Jaggery into pieces,Add water to it.Allow it to boil till it gets single thread thick consistency
  • Filter it to remove any particles/impurities.
  • Take a wide pan,Boil the milk, Add the drained poha/aval in the medium flame. Pour the 3/4 cup jaggery and allow it to stir gently till combined well.
  • Add cardamom powder and roasted  coconut to it.
  • Mix well and turn off the heat.
  • Add the cashew nut and raisins to it.
  • Serve it :)
